Takween is actively seeking a seasoned Social Media Officer to be responsible for assisting in planning, development and implementation of the Organization's social media strategy, marketing communications, and public relations activities to increase our online presence and improve our marketing efforts.

Key Result Areas

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy

  • Define most important social media KPIs

  • Manage and oversee social media content

  • Measure the success of every social media campaign

  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices

  • Implement strategies/ tactics to encourage engagement, engagement, enhance our visibility and grow our communities of stakeholders or clients

  • Create, implement and measure the success of the organization's material’s including publications and media relations. Coordinate the appearance of the organization's print and electronic material such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc

  • Assist in the execution of the marketing communications plans/ programs for assigned Takween clients

  • Develop an understanding of client requirements

  • Develop and monitor the project’s work plan and timeline for assigned Takween clients

  • Assist in the coordination of media interest in the Organization- Ensure regular contact with target media appropriate response to media requests

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned



  • BA degree or B.SC in Integrated Marketing Communications. Mass Communications or a related discipline

  • A postgraduate degree in a related field

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing/ Mass Communications


  • 3-7 years of experience preferably with international development, donors and communications relevant experience


  • Fluency in both oral and written Arabic and English is a must

  • Ability to work in a dynamic team and on various projects at the same time

  • Ability to work independently in a wide range of assignments/ tasks

  • Knowledge of local legislation and laws

  • Strong interpersonal communication and networking skills

  • Good intercultural skills and ability to work in a multicultural team

  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media best practices

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)


  • Ability to work under high pressure and carry out multi-tasks in simultaneous projects

  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn

  • Teamwork abilities and work collaboratively with other stakeholders and staff members
