About the job

A Site civil engineer shall provide engineering assistance, technical guidance and the overall planning, design, installation and maintenance of the civil engineering phases of the project.
Site engineers manage parts of a construction project, providing technical advice, supervising staff on site and ensuring that their packages are completed on time and within budget.

Key Result Areas

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives.

  • Setting out, leveling and surveying the site.

  • Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.

  • Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.

  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.

  • making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.

  • Get record of all the materials coming at site such as brick, sand, cement bag, bar, and other.

  • Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the technical office.

  • Calculating the estimate of working day work such as, steel work, concreting work, form work, excavation, filling, plastering, etc.

  • Liaising with any subcontractors, supervisors and the general workforce involved in the project.

  • Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors.

  • Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.

  • Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site.

  • Preparing reports as required.

  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

  • Overseeing building work.

  • Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.

  • Supervising contracted staff.

  • Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.

  • Liaising with subcontractors and other professional staff, quantity surveyors and the overall project manager.

  • Providing technical advice and solving problems on site.

  • Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork, reports.

  • Liaising with purchasing representatives about the ordering and the pricing of materials.

  • Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

  • Performs, provides training for, and guidance on quality assurance, ensuring projects get carried out as designed and recommend additions as needed.

  • Work out creative solutions to clean, support and repair objects.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate professional standards within your specialist area.

  • Keep up to date with the latest constructions techniques and practices, through research and training.

Requirements

Qualification:

  • Accredited degree in engineering: usually civil, structural Engineer.

Experience:

  • Proven working experience in civil engineering.

  • 10 years of experience in constructions sites.

  • A Site civil engineer preferably a resident from Luxor or Esna.
