About the job

A procurement engineer is responsible for the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services Takween Integrated Development. This includes everything from construction materials and equipment to subcontractor services.
The Procurement engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. The selected candidate must be able to understand the technical requirements of construction projects, as well as the commercial aspects of procurement. They must also be able to develop contracts and manage relationships with suppliers.
The job will require the following:
Help to identify the right suppliers. The Procurement engineer is responsible for finding the best prices for goods and services.
Help ensure quality. Procurement engineers must make sure that the goods and services they procure meet the quality standards of the construction company. This helps to ensure that the company's projects are completed to a high standard.

Key Result Areas

Overall responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans for construction projects.

  • Identify and source potential suppliers of construction materials, equipment, and services.

  • Conduct market research to determine the best prices and quality for construction materials, equipment, and services.

  • Oversee the development of contracts with suppliers of construction materials, equipment, and services.

  • Oversee the delivery and inspection of construction materials, equipment, and services with programs and operations of Takween.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies and regulations.

  • The overall objective of this position is to ensure the efficient and effective procurement of technical goods and services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with engineering and other departments to identify and understand technical requirements.

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and plans.

  • Identifying and sourcing potential suppliers.

  • Conducting market research to determine the best prices and quality.

  • Developing contracts with suppliers.

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant procurement policies and regulations.

  • Preparing and submitting procurement reports to management.

  • Developing and maintaining a list of pre-qualified suppliers of construction materials.

  • Preparing and issuing tenders for construction materials.

  • Lead the evaluation of bids from suppliers of construction materials.

  • Managing the relationship with suppliers of construction materials.

  • Resolving any issues that arise with suppliers of construction materials.

Requirements

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement of construction materials.

  • Strong understanding of construction materials and their specifications.

  • Experience in contract negotiation and management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

  • Experience developing procurement plans.

  • Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation, and verbal communications.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes with little advance notice.

Location:

  • The Engineer Procurement Officer will work in Maadi Office, Cairo.
