Takween is hiring Photographer to document activities carried out for different projects by capturing photo’s not only of the achievements, but at that process and steps in the life cycle of the projects we implement. It is the interest of Takween to be well-represented in terms of photos that reflect the reality of our projects but more importantly to document efforts of the organization in restoring/renovation and bring changing to urban contexts for future generations.
Takween seeks to establish Long Term Agreements with a qualified photographer for the documentation of its different activities and events. The pictures will be used by Takween across various platforms (including digital and print). All original pictures should be delivered with metadata (date, detailed location, name and surname of persons portrayed, etc.)
Key Result Areas
According to the nature of the assignment, the photographer will provide:
a) Programme activity coverage - professional photography documentation of Takween supported programmes, activities and events.
b) First person narrative visual storytelling with captions & quotes - professional photographic storytelling focused on an individual, a beneficiary or an activity.
c) Everyday Voices - portraits of people, beneficiaries or key actors and partners of Takween.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capture and document the following topics in areas where Takween has projects:
Historical sites inside the city and surroundings areas
The architecturally significant buildings
Streetscape
Community “portrait, social life”
Crafts development
Architectural details and interiors
Community oral history and interview
Workshops, conferences and events
City tours and site visits
- The purpose of the photography is to capture:
General documentation of the targeted buildings and sites;
Documentation of the project progress in the different sites (before, during and after);
Implementation activities (shots for project staff, ongoing work progress)
Documentation of all project activities including workshops, conferences, city tours, site visits, and events
Community interaction with the projects activities
Ethnography and art history interviews with community and different stakeholder
Tourism related activities including interviews with tour guides and tourists
Promotion and marketing of the city heritage through different channels.
- The Photographer is responsible for providing his/her own photography equipment and any supplementary tools needed to produce visually appealing material;
- In addition to the above, photos must be delivered in RAW format (soft copy, min 300 dpi resolution, and suitable for high quality professional printing.);
- Upon completion of the day, the Photographer is requested to submit a unlimited number of RAW photos and a minimum of 30 edited high-resolution photos (JPEG, PNG, etc. format) worthy for display in the project’s public events including exhibitions and publications.
- The Photographer has to abide by the project partners’ rules and regulations.
REPORTING
The Photographer will report Takween-ICD’s assigned Projects Manager and will present the deliverables in high resolution soft copy.
DURATION AND LEVEL OF EFFORT
This assignment will start in May 1, 2021 for a total duration of 1 year. Contract can be renewed for another year if mutually agreed. The Photographer is expected to travel for his/her work and will be required to provide a minimum of three days a month, but this could increase upon request.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
The payment for the Photographer will be paid monthly after the submission of a time sheet which is to be reviewed and signed by the Project Manager.
Compensation for accommodation, meals and other eligible travel costs will be made upon submitting of evidence and supporting documents; and according to Takween-ICD policies and procedures.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND A RECORD OF RIGHT
All materials and photos produced by the Photographer under this task will be the sole property of Takween-ICD, and subject to the project rules and regulations. The Photographer will maintain high level of confidentiality with external actors/stakeholders, with regard to all the materials produced under the task.

Qualification:
B. Sc. in Arts, or equivalent University degree in related area of study
Experience:
5 years of working experience in photography and documentation through photos.
