Takween ICD is seeking a motivated Junior Researcher to join our Urban Studies and Research Unit. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who will support the unit’s mission to deliver innovative and actionable research that addresses urban challenges in Egypt and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a relevant academic background and a strong interest in urban planning, urban design, and climate resilience, with the ability to contribute across fieldwork, mapping, visualization, workshop facilitation, and report writing.
Key Result Areas
Conducting fieldwork and supporting urban and social surveys, including site documentation and interviews/FGDs (as relevant).
Producing maps, infographics, and visual outputs for reports and presentations.
Supporting report writing, including drafting sections, summarizing field findings, and documenting workshop outcomes with clarity and accuracy.
Supporting capacity-building and participatory activities, including assisting in facilitating workshops and seminars for multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Urban Design/Planning, Architecture, Urban Studies, or a related field.
Skills
2 - 3 years of professional experience in urban research, planning, development, or related fields.
Strong documentation and report-writing skills in both Arabic and English, with experience in conducting research and urban/social surveys.
Ability to produce maps, infographics, and visualsthat communicate findings clearly; experience supporting workshops and participatory activitiesis highly desirable.
