Takween ICD is seeking to hire a Business Skills Consultant to assess the business readiness of targeted community members and deliver tailored business skills training to empower women and other selected individuals to manage and sustain a women-led social enterprise in Esna. In addition to training delivery, the consultant will support the development of the social enterprise’s business model and operational strategy. The consultant will work closely with Takween’s team to ensure the enterprise is grounded in practical business knowledge and entrepreneurial capacity.
Key Result Areas
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess the business readiness of targeted community members in Esna (around 30-40 targeted community members).
Conduct research on similar business models and organizational structures locally and internationally, and analyze legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to social enterprises in Egypt.
Organize focus groups with community leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to gather input on key aspects of Social Enterprise model. Conduct awareness sessions for the community to highlight the benefits of social enterprises.
Develop the business model, organizational structure, business plan, etc, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for Social Enterprise.
Develop business skills training modules tailored to the needs identified in the assessment.
Conduct one business skills training for targeted community members, with focus on empowering women. The expected number of trainees is 10. In coordination with Takween, the consultant will determine the appropriate number of training days and modules to ensure the training is comprehensive and tailored to participants’ needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in designing and delivering business skills or entrepreneurship training, preferably for women, youth, or informal sector entrepreneurs.
Experience working with social enterprises, development projects, or community-based initiatives.
Familiarity with small business operations in the crafts, creative economy, or tourism sectors is highly desirable.
Skills:
Proven ability to create and deliver training tailored to learners with varied education levels.
Strong facilitation and communication skills, especially in participatory training methods.
Excellent command of Arabic (spoken and written); proficiency in English is an advantage.
Ability to compile professional reports and training documentation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Sensitivity to gender, cultural dynamics, and community development principles.Location:
